Each prep station will be a hands-on activity where you will get to test out the practices and put them into place in a short 10-minute span! Robin Aupperle, associate professor of community medicine, will present a lecture titled “Experience the Value of Play” at Discovery Lab.
Dinner will be provided in the Jolt @ TU Business Center from 5 to 5:45 p.m. before taking a trolley to the lecture.

Robin Aupperle is a member of the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. Her areas of interest are clinical neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her presentation centers on the positive influence of play for creativity. After the presentation, you’re welcome to explore the Discovery Lab and enjoy all the offerings of the new space.
Kwanzaa doesn’t start until Dec. 26, but TU students, faculty and staff are invited to join the DEI Office for a pre-Kwanzaa celebration! Take a break from studying to learn about the holiday, enjoy food from Sisserou’s and make a corn husk vase.

During the spring 2023 semester, interdisciplinary student teams will be challenged to develop innovative transportation solutions for the City of Tulsa. Both undergraduate and graduate students can participate.
In an effort to expand mobility options for all Tulsans, the mobility strategy includes a recommendation that an university innovation challenge be held to seek diverse solutions to improve Tulsa’s transportation options in order to improve communities, equity and access for underserved Tulsans, attract new businesses, reduce vehicle emissions and make roadways safer.
This year’s competition will focus on improving equity and access for underserved Tulsans. Currently, too many Tulsans live too far away from reliable public transportation, thereby limiting their access to healthy food, health care and employment.
Students and faculty are invited to attend an information session on in Helmerich Hall’s JOLT Center. Representatives from the City of Tulsa will be attending to discuss the importance of this initiative. Food will be provided.
