Investment Portfolio Challenge

Investment Portfolio Challenge (IPC) is presented by The University of Tulsa and sponsored by Council Oak Wealth Advisors. Seven student teams representing five universities (The University of Tulsa, University of Arkansas, Oklahoma State University, Southwest Oklahoma State University and Tulsa Community College) will compete.

How does it work?

With a team, prepare and present an optimal weighting of Global Industry Classification Standard (“GICS” ®) sectors for a hypothetical $5 million investment portfolio. Teams will submit their 30 minute pre-recorded presentation by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9. Each team’s presentations will then be judged by a panel of industry representatives.

During the live event on November 17, teams will participate in a 15 minute Q&A with judges, faculty advisors and the general audience. Teams will be scored on both their presentations and responses to questions.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams.

  • 1st place: $3,000
  • 2nd place: $1,500

Haunted Harwell Hall

Stop by Harwell Hall on Oct. 29 – if you dare! Lambda Alpha will be putting on a spooky haunted house. Afterwards, join us for a fun Halloween movie. It’s sure to be a great time – after all, when your building has multiple skeletons in it year ’round, you know it’s gonna be good! Harwell Hall is located near Kendall Hall and Oliphant Hall. Costumes are optional and there will be popcorn and other refreshments!

Anthropology Open House

Join the Anthropology department in Harwell Hall for an open house! This is an opportunity for the TU community to tour the department where you can see animal and human bones, stone tool artifacts, taxidermied animals and much more. Whether you are thinking of a new major, taking a class or just have an intense curiosity, you will have a chance to talk to many of our professors and current students to learn more about anthropology and archaeology. Harwell Hall is located near Kendall Hall and Oliphant Hall and refreshments will be available. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Miriam Belmaker at miriam-belmaker@utulsa.edu.
