DEI Week 2022

DEI Week: Diversi-TEA

This DEI week event will address multiple forms of “identi-tea,” along with the ways we perceive and understand each other along lines of difference. Tea and snacks provided.

DEI Week: TU Turn Up

TU students are invited to unwind at the end of DEI Week by partying with your friends at TU Turn Up! There will be snacks, drinks, a photo booth, a DJ and (of course) a dance floor. Need some time to warm up? Come to Ballroom/Voguing 101 beforehand to learn some new moves and enjoy some immaculate vibes.

DEI Week: Ballroom/Voguing 101

Join Chris from Black Queer Tulsa to learn about ballroom culture and how to vogue like you may have seen on Legendary, Pose or Paris is Burning.

DEI Week: Entrepreneur Showcase

Come out to support local entrepreneurs from both TU and the Tulsa community. We’ve got entrepreneurs selling artwork, jewelry, sweet treats and more. Don’t forget to bring a method of payment (e.g., debit/credit card, Venmo or CashApp) in case you find something you can’t live without!

Featuring Go Baynanas, Simply Art, Onifade’s Cookie Co, Groovy Guti Art Co, Space Man’s Jerky LLC, Angel Okolie LLC, Til Death Permanent Jewelry, TU Garage Sale, Grace’s Nail Castle and Beads Please LLC.

DEI Week: Mindful Morning – Meditation

Start your day off on the right foot with guided morning meditations, a pastry from Pancho Anaya and coffee. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket or towel, if you can. If you enjoy it, come back for yoga and meditation with Crystal Shaver on Thursday!

DEI Week: Body Count – Examining Hoeness

Why are men celebrated when they have many partners, but women are shamed? What does it mean to be a hoe? As part of DEI Week, join the DEI office to watch a video podcast about sexual double standards featuring Brittany Renner. There will be a discussion afterward.
