TU’s First-Gen Cord Ceremony is a special event held each spring to celebrate the accomplishments of first-generation students. First-gen graduates are presented with a purple and gold cord to wear during their graduation to serve as a visible recognition of their achievements and resilience.
This Cord Ceremony & Dinner takes place at Mayo Sac Clubhouse, 5-6:15 pm.

Join the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences as faculty and staff celebrate our graduates at our annual Senior Breakfast, where faculty serve graduating A&S students and their families. A selection of hot and cold foods will be available for families as they come-and-go during a busy day of celebrations!

The University of Tulsa will host an in-person hooding ceremony for graduating College of Law students on May 5, 2023, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Law students will convene at 4 p.m., and the ceremony will begin promptly at 5 p.m. Family and friends will want to be in their seats prior to this time. A reception will follow at the College of Law.
No registration required for guests. Students and guests are welcome to park in any unattended lot on campus on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of ADA and VIP parking spaces are available in the Lorton Village Apartment Lot and the Reynolds Center Lot. Review a map of campus.
Countdown to Commencement is a graduation fair/commencement preparation event. Graduating students can meet with various vendors and departments to make sure they are ready for the big day.
