Collins College of Business Dean’s Lecture Series featuring Sandeep Purao: Academic Lecture

Academic Lecture: Pursuing Social Inclusion for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Sandeep Purao, Ph.D., is a trustee professor and interim chair in the Information and Process Management Group and associate director of the Hoffman Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University. He is also a visiting professor at Agder University in Norway. His current research involves the design of digital solutions for social good.

This lecture will take place in 121 Helmerich Hall and is open to University of Tulsa faculty. TU faculty members planning to attend may contact cristina@utulsa.edu by March 29 to order lunch.

Purao is a trustee professor and interim chair in the Information and Process Management Group and associate director of the Hoffman Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University. This event will take place in the Chapman Hall Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

Collins College of Business Accounting Research Afternoon

TU faculty members will present research and participate in panel discussions regarding trends in accounting. This virtual event will be online via Teams.

Agenda:

  • Introduction by Dean Taylor and remarks by Akhilesh Bajaj
    (10 minutes)
  • Research presentation – Bartlett Professor Li Sun: “CIO power and corporate performance”
    (30 minutes including Q&A)
  • Panel discussion – accounting faculty and invited panelists: “What will accounting look like in 10 years?”
    (30 minutes with audience participation)
  • Research presentation – Assistant Professor Jose Miranda: “The impact of improving the regulatory environment and the accounting standards in Mexico on the quality and the usefulness of earnings data”
    (30 minutes including Q&A)

Tulsa Mobility Innovation Strategy Launch Event

Join a convening of local leaders, businesses and organizations as we present the Tulsa Mobility Innovation Strategy, celebrate the successes of mobility initiatives already underway and look toward next-steps in implementing the Strategy to evolve Tulsa as an inclusive and well-connected place to live, work and visit.

Wilson will present a lecture regarding climate mitigation and the energy transition titled “Welcome to the Energy Revolution: Efficiency, Economy and Equity.” Open to current TEMSA members and students interested in joining TEMSA.

Southwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

Collins College of Business welcomes the Southwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.

The Southwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition is operated by a team of dedicated volunteers from the Information Security industry. The on-site regional competition is hosted by the University of Tulsa every March. Support is provided by National CCDC and our generous sponsors. All of this activity is coordinated through TALON.
