V.S. Naipaul: Man Without a Country

January 13

Event Series Event Series (See All)
Free

On view through Dec. 19, 2025.

Special Collections at McFarlin Library presents, for the first time ever, an exhibition about Nobel Laureate V.S. Naipaul. Naipaul was a Trinidadian-born British author, with a cultural background from India. Publishing more than 30 books in over 50 years, he was a master in travel literature, paving the way for future generations to write about postcolonial societies. “Man Without a Country” honors the life, struggles, and accomplishments of one of the most prominent authors of the 20th century.

Visitors are welcome to come to Special Collections on the fifth floor of McFarlin Library to see the selection of items from V.S. Naipaul’s life collection on display through 2025. Enter the building at the Plaza Level and take the elevator in the southeast corner of the building to floor 5. Exit to your right and ring the doorbell. Our department is open to visitors Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
