Tulsa’s Route 66 Capital Cruise

The University of Tulsa is excited to welcome thousands of guests to campus for the Capital Cruise car parade on Saturday, May 30, 2026. More than 4,500 classic cars are expected to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime parade down Eleventh Street as Tulsa celebrates Route 66’s centennial and attempts to set a new world record for the largest classic car parade ever.

- Join us from 7 a.m. to noon on Chapman Commons for music, lawn games, food trucks and the Kid Market featuring products developed by young entrepreneurs.
Street Closures
- South Tucker loop will be closed beginning Thursday morning.
- East Eighth Street between South Delaware Avenue and South Gary Place will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday.
- East Eleventh Street road closures from South Yale Avenue to South Denver Avenue will begin at 5 a.m. Saturday and will be complete by 6 a.m. Once roads are closed, vehicles will not be permitted to enter, exit or cross the parade route under any circumstance.
- Please plan ahead if you need to travel around campus Saturday morning.
Event Parking
- Members of the UTulsa community who are visiting campus for the Capital Cruise are encouraged to enter the north side of campus from South Delaware Avenue or South Harvard Avenue. Limited parking will be available in lots along East Fourth Place (excluding apartment complex parking lots). Street parking may be available in neighborhoods around campus and along the parade route.
Know Before You Go
- Alcohol, weapons, drones and any item deemed to be a danger to campus or the community are strictly prohibited.
- Portable restrooms will be available.
- University buildings will be closed to the public.
