Tulsa Symphony Orchestra at TU

October 6, 3:00 pm-4:30 pm

Tulsa Symphony Orchestra (TSO) presents the first Symphony Sessions at TU’s Lorton Performance Center Sunday, October 6, at 3 p.m. Maestro Ron Spigelman will lead the chamber orchestra through an exciting program of Warlock’s Capriol Suite, Ginastera’s Variaciones concertantes and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1.

Ron Spigelman is a Tulsa resident and native of Australia. He is an honors graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London and has held positions as Associate Conductor, Music Director, Guest Conductor, and Principal Pops Conductor in orchestras across the country. His conducting talents have been highlighted in more than 30 world premiere performances. Ron is much sought after for his exceptional skills as a conductor of live film soundtracks and is equally skilled as a pops conductor. He has conducted the entire Harry Potter series of live soundtrack productions with the Tulsa Symphony at the Tulsa PAC.

Ron is a great communicator and his lively commentary during programs provides new and interesting insights into the music and the composers.

The Symphony Sessions at TU concert series is made possible through the generosity of the David B. Waters Charitable Foundation, which funds a collaborative partnership with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and The University of Tulsa. This partnership includes student mentorship and coaching opportunities with the TSO quintet in-residence, guest artist Q&As, two free TSO String Quintet recitals, and two Symphony Sessions Chamber Orchestra concerts each academic year. This collaboration furthers TSO’s cultural and educational impact on the city of Tulsa and the reach of exceptional symphonic music throughout the entire community.

Through this mutually beneficial collaboration, TSO provides free admission to TU faculty and students and extends a warm invitation to the Tulsa Community to enjoy these entertaining and exciting musical afternoons for $30. Tickets are available at the door or through the Tulsa Symphony box office at tulsasymphony.org or 918-584-3645.
