TU Law’s Veterans Day Reception

The Tulsa community is invited to campus for TU Law’s Veterans Day Reception! We are proud to count many veterans and active military among our students, alumni, faculty, and staff. TU Law’s Veterans Day Reception is an opportunity for people from across our college, university, and community to gather to honor those who have served and are currently serving this country during both war and peace.

Guest speaker: Carol Thompson

Thompson is a deputy managing partner at the Washington, D.C., based law firm Federal Practice Group. The Federal Practice Group specializes in areas concerning federal law, including representation of military members, federal employees, and federal government contractors.
Thompson’s practice largely focuses on military members and federal government contractors. She previously served as a Marine Corps judge advocate and holds a master of studies in law, government contracting and procurement law. Both experiences have given Thompson an acute understanding of the various regulations and statutes governing all aspects of military service and federal government contracting.
Thompson routinely appears before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, representing service members and government contractors, as well as various U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the federal circuit, and the Courts of Criminal Appeals for the various military services. Thompson’s outstanding record has earned her recognition by Super Lawyers in 2022 and 2023.
Thompson is a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University and a 2008 graduate of The University of Tulsa College of Law. She served as a major in the Marine Corps. She is married with three children.
