Subway Conversations: The Story of Daria Serenko’s #Quiet Picket (#тихийпикет)

Dr. Joanna Matuszak, Assistant Professor of Art History at The University of Texas at Tyler joins us to discuss #Quiet Picket, which began as a participatory art project in Moscow in 2016. It aimed at creating a conversation platform and engage subway travelers in conversations about societal problems such xenophobia, homophobia, sexism, or racism. The project continued online and contributed not only to dialogue but also to creation of collective counter-memory.
