Sharp Lecture Series with Christopher Baglow
October 20, 5:30 pm
Free
The Tulsa community is invited to Sharp Chapel for a lecture titled “Animals, the Human Animal and God.” Many believers naturally fear the idea of human evolution because it puts us in direct descent from and in relation to the other animals. What then, of human dignity and uniqueness, of being made in the image of God? A closer look at the relation and difference between animal communication and human language will guide us to see our crucial divergence without losing our historical connection, and in doing so address a crisis of understanding among young Christians regarding the creation of the human soul and our body-soul unity.
Christopher Baglow is Professor of the Practice of Theology and Director of the Science & Religion Initiative in the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame.
There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation.
