MATHCOUNTS East Central Regional Competition – Volunteers Needed!
February 6, 8:00 am-3:00 pm
What: The 2026 MATHCOUNTS Oklahoma Regional and State Competitions are coming to The University of Tulsa, bringing together enthusiastic middle school mathematicians from across the region for an exciting day of problem‑solving, teamwork and competitive fun. These events are part of the statewide MATHCOUNTS competition series, a well‑known math program that engages students in grades 6–8 in critical thinking and math challenges.
Where: The University of Tulsa – Great Hall (on campus)
When: Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 (and various other dates at other locations around the state)
Who: Over 200 local students are expected to participate and compete in rounds that include written and team‑based problem‑solving challenges.
Volunteer Call‑Out:
We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers from TU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Tulsa STEM community to help make this event a success! Your support helps ensure smooth operations and an unforgettable experience for competitors. No advanced math expertise is needed — just a willingness to cheer on young problem solvers and help where needed. Volunteer roles can include:
• Assisting with competitor check‑in and registration
• Proctoring and timing competition rounds
• Distributing materials and snacks
• Helping with scoring and logistics
• Encouraging and supporting students on event day
