INTO LIGHT Oklahoma Exhibition
November 15
FreeOn view through Dec. 21, 2024
The Oklahoma Center for the Humanities is pleased to partner with the INTO LIGHT Project to bring a new exhibit to 101 Archer: “Drug Addiction: Real People, Real Stories.”
The exhibit will feature original graphite portraits of 30 Oklahomans who have passed away from drug overdoses, accompanied by professional written narratives on their lives.
INTO LIGHT Project, a national non-profit, creates public exhibitions of original portraits and individual stories of people who have died from the disease of drug addiction in locations around the country. Its mission is to change the conversation about drug addiction through the power of original art and story. They are looking for partnerships that inspire social change, through art. INTO LIGHT Project selects one public academic museum or gallery in each state based on their ability to engage the community by building meaningful educational programming around the exhibit that addresses issues about the disease of addiction. OCH is proud to represent Oklahoma in this project.
This exhibit runs Oct. 4 through Dec. 21, 2024 in 101 Archer’s South Gallery. The galleries are open Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon until 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to all.
