Migration: A Faith-Based Humanitarian Vision
March 11 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Virtual Event
Free
We’re delighted to welcome Reverend Daniel Groody, author of “Globalization, Spirituality, and Justice: Navigating the Path to Peace,” for a discussion about immigration, justice, and courage. This talk is designed not as another report on the crisis at the border but as a discussion about reshaping how we understand the people and events there. Human dignity has its origin in God’s creation. If God made the human being after his own image and likeness, everything human, including immigrants, should be a reflection of God.
Rev. Groody is a Holy Cross priest and associate professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame, where he directs the Center for Latino Spirituality and Culture. He is also the author of “Border of Death, Valley of Life: An Immigrant Journey of Heart and Spirit,” and editor of “Gustavo Gutierrez: Spiritual Writings.”
Groody will be joined in discussion by Matthew Drever, associate professor of Anglican and Ecumenical studies at the University of Tulsa.
