Free

TU students are invited to join TU’s Department of Film Studies to hear from Victoria Sturtevant, a distinguished professor of Film and Media Studies from the University of Oklahoma, as she shares her expert insights on the history and meanings of pregnancy and abortion in American popular comedy. Drawing from her forthcoming book, Fertile Ground: Representations of Pregnancy in American Film and Television Comedy, Sturtevant will discuss iconic movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Citizen Ruth, Grandma, Obvious Child, and Unpregnant. This event, sponsored by the Women’s and Gender Studies program, is an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the leading voices in her field. Don’t miss out!
