Graduate Seminar with Jose Luis Arellano

November 15, 2024, 3:30 pm-4:45 pm

Free

UTulsa students are invited to a lecture presented by guest speaker Jose Luis Arellano, who will discuss “Artificial Lift Operations in Permian Basin to Enhance Oil and Gas Production.”

Many artificial lift methods are used in the Permian Basin to produce oil and gas, starting with electrical submersible pumps at high rates, switching to gas lift at intermediate rates, and then using sucker rod pumps at low rates. Over half of U.S. wells producing more than 10 bbl/day use gas lift. This presentation will focus on gas lift operations, highlighting its benefits, including flexibility and simplicity. It will address common issues in gas lift and provide solutions for optimizing production.
