Faith, Science, and Reason

Cory Hayes, professor of philosophy and theology at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana, will present a lecture titled “Conflict or Confusion: Faith and Reason in the Galileo Affair 1616-1633.”

Professor Hayes holds a doctorate in systematic theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He has also pursued studies at the Gregorian and Angelicum universities in Rome, Italy. His research and teaching interests include Byzantine and Eastern Christian theology, philosophy of nature, and the relation between theology, philosophy, and empirical science.
