Deep Greenwood Community Read – Imaginings: The Futures of Greenwood

May 30, 6:00 pm-7:30 pm

Free

Note: This event takes place at Rudisill Regional Library

TU faculty, staff and students join us in the Deep Greenwood Community reading. To coincide with the anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, this event will consist of a panel discussion about Greenwood’s future. The talk will focus less on policy and more on vision – how do community leaders hope initiatives will reshape Greenwood’s landscape?

This event coincides with chapters 25-epilogue of Vic Luckerson’s book Built from the Fire: The Epic Story of Tulsa’s Greenwood District, America’s Black Wall Street, as part of the “Deep Greenwood” city-wide read.

This series is sponsored by the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, the Tulsa City-County Public Library, All Souls Unitarian Church, Big 10 Ballroom, Oklahoma Eagle, Black Wall Street Times, Magic City Books, and Fulton Street Books.
