Dance for Joy: A Survivor’s Journey
March 22, 11:30 am-5:00 pm
Event Series
(See All)
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Nurjahan Boulden, a Tanzanian belly dancer and gun violence survivor will provide a keynote and mini-workshop on the history, culture, and significance of belly dance as she’s known it and her intentional journey back to the art following her traumatic experience. UTulsa students are invited to join in on this beautiful story of resilience and love … of self and of life.
Subsequent workshop on Saturday, March 22, will be a deeper dive into how we connect with our bodies … and to the world around us THROUGH our bodies. Come dressed comfortably and be open to FUN and vulnerability (and yes, they “can” co-exist)!
