Cyber Fellows Speaker Series – Paul Winter
February 21, 10:00 am-11:30 pm

TU Cyber Fellows are invited to engage with Paul Winter who serves as the Vice President of Professional Services at SimSpace Corporation helping customers maximize their investment to understand cyber security risk through use of the SimSpace Cyber Range platform. Prior to joining SimSpace, Paul spent over a decade with Booz Allen Hamilton as a consultant to the Department of Defense conducting analyses of cyber operations, and predicting effectiveness and risk associated with employment of cyber capabilities. While in this role, he became intimately familiar with the need to leverage cyber ranges that represent real-world environments when testing offensive and defensive capabilities. This testing improved leaders’ confidence in their employment decisions.
Paul holds a Masters of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University.
Topic: Raising Confidence to Reduce Risk. How do organizations increase confidence in their ability to withstand a severe cyber attack? A great way to understand how they might respond is to exercise their team using their tools in a safe environment that mimics their corporate network and systems. This talk will examine strategies of various organizations and review some lessons learned from their experiences.
The Cyber Fellows Speaker Series is open to Cyber Fellows, related faculty, and our external partners. The speaker series is an opportunity for Cyber Fellows to have deep conversations with cyber industry professionals, venture capitalists, founders, and entrepreneurs.
