Cyber Fellows Speaker Series – Alex Janas

TU Cyber Fellows are invited to engage with Alex Janas, Feild CTO at Comvault. Mr. Janas’s talk is titled “Being successful starts with learning how to be more than just a Turbo Nerd.”

Mr. Janas has carved out a distinguished reputation as an authority in cybersecurity, with an illustrious career that spans military service, government intelligence, and diverse roles in the private sector. His professional journey began with the US Marine Corps, where he served in both the Infantry and Security Forces, laying the groundwork for his disciplined approach to cybersecurity challenges. Following his military service, Mr. Janas further honed his skills through the Cyber Corps program at The University of Tulsa in 2005, setting the stage for a significant tenure at the NSA. There, he contributed to various capacities—including Analyst, Master Operator, and Technical Director—within the Tailored Access Operations and Cyber Counter Intelligence Division. Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Janas continued to expand his expertise, initially working at a cybersecurity services startup and ultimately assuming the role of Field CTO at Commvault. His journey reflects a broad spectrum of experiences, underscoring his versatile expertise and leadership in tackling contemporary cybersecurity challenges.
