The Alexandre Hogue Gallery presents Floating & Folding, an exhibition of mixed-media works by Chicago-based artist Alexis Petroff.
Alexis Petroff has been exploring the relationship between drawing and sculpture for the past 20 years. With a background in printmaking and hand papermaking, he makes three-dimensional works using wire, paper, silk and gouache. This exhibition will feature his large-scale folding drawings alongside three-dimensional paper forms that float in the shallow space parallel to the wall.
The Alexander Hogue Gallery is open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays This show is free and open to the public.

Alexis Petroff lives and works in Chicago. Selected solo and two-person exhibitions include 65GRAND, Chicago, IL; List Gallery at Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA; Adds Donna, Chicago, IL; Mess Hall, Chicago, IL; Evanston Art Center, Evanston, IL; Indiana University Fine Arts Library, Bloomington, IN.
