A Festival of Lessons and Carols

December 4, 2022, 7:30 pm-9:30 pm

Free

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for our annual Festival of Lessons and Carols. One of the most beloved English traditions of Advent and Christmas is a form of worship known as the “Festival of Lessons and Carols.” God’s Word is proclaimed and contemplated in a special sequence of readings, prayers, choral and congregational song. Our festival will feature readings by Chaplain Jeffrey C. Francis, and the Cappella Chamber Singers directed by Kim Childs. The Festival of Lessons and Carols was first conceived for use in the Truro Cathedral in the late nineteenth century. It was simplified and adapted for use in King’s College Chapel, Cambridge, in 1918 by Dewan Eric Milner-White. After the program, stay and join us for refreshments in the Chapel Atrium featuring hot cocoa and cider, along with holiday breads and festive desserts and cookies. TU’s Festival of Lessons and Carols has been a campus and community favorite for over 25 years and you won’t want to miss it!
