TU's Shark Tank Kick Start grants, much like the investments of the Sharks in the TV show Shark Tank, are intended to provide support and assist the expansion of a research initiative.
The goal of the Shark Tank Kick Start Program is to support research projects that will start up/or enhance faculty scholarly activities that lead to the seeking of larger, external grant. A review committee composed of deans will review applications submitted by assistant professors. Promising projects will be invited for five-minute oral pitch presentation similar to the Shark Tank and in front of a live audience.
TU assistant professors are encouraged to apply for a Shark Tank grant for up to $5,000 to help start or enhance scholarly activities.
The 2018 Shark Tank Kick Start application is available on the portal begining May 1, 2018.
Submissions must be received by September 1, 2018.
