The concert and Master Class that were "free and open to the public" were together an extraordinary opportunity to not only hear these extremely talented performers but to watch them "up close and personal" as they helped each student in the Master Class get the precise one-on-one counsel and encouragement they needed at that moment. Mr. Pfortmiller especially personified a master teacher

The post accredited to me (Sue) was written by my husband, Frank. I totally agree and wish I had half of his abilities.

Here is the rest of my comment...... at his best. He listened intently and then zeroed in on the one thing that would be most useful to that student, then. Asked if the student perceived it and when they said yes he taught/demonstrated what was important to expand that perception. His full attention was focused on that student for that person. Only at the end when he was asked to identify the one most important thing did he identify a advice applicable to all. The essence was simply "to breath". I was in awe as I watched and listened and I know nothing about music at the level of this class. I simply felt privileged to be there for both events and I want to thank everyone involved in bringing this to Tulsa.
